New Print Images - Collies With the World Sheepdog Trials in mind and our stand at the event Donna has created a number of new Collie images, four of which have been produced as prints in the 10"x12" range. These mounted prints fit standard sized frames available in many stores. Two of the images are working Collie colour sketches showing movement and typical poses for dogs working with sheep. The 'washy' style appeals to those who like watercolours. The other two are head studies. One is a trio of images and the other a sketch. These join the existing two images already stocked. World Sheepdog Trials - Sept 2008. Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire With the wonderful opportunity to be part of this prestigious event, practically on our doorstep, Donna and Andrew decided to attend the World Sheepdog Trails this year with a marquee displaying Donna's paintings and prints. This is something we rarely do but after a few major hiccups due to weather we managed to set up on Saturday morning, mid-way through the 4 day event.
In preparation for the event Donna painted a number of Collie images, some of which were produced as prints to add to the existing range. Fortunately our neighbour Nigel Watkins is a world renowned sheepdog trialer and who had a good chance of winning this year and Donna was able to 'borrow' his dogs as subjects. Floss and Lad now are immortalised on canvas and in print! The show went well, many new contacts made, lost of commission enquiries for all sorts of dogs and we had a pleasant weekend meeting new and existing clients and even one who had bought Donna's paintings 25 years ago!
